Most of the business development done by lawyers happens away from their desk, like in a car on the way to a client meeting or at a conference. Those are moments when relationship context is most useful, and hardest to access. That often results with scattered context, with notes written on a phone, follow-ups pushed until the next week, and new contacts slipping through the cracks (instead of into your CRM).
Nexl’s October 2026 release puts that context in lawyers’ hands. The main update is our new Nexl Mobile app, which we rebuilt from the ground up to be faster and easier to use. It brings meeting prep, follow-up, and who-knows-who together in an app designed to be used on the go. For admins and marketing teams, the release adds user groups and much faster list cleaning, and we’ve also completed our SOC 2 Type II audit.
What’s in this release

New Nexl Mobile app
We rebuilt Nexl Mobile as a brand-new app with a cleaner design and better performance. It runs on the same data as Nexl CRM, so everything a lawyer sees is captured automatically from Microsoft 365 with zero data entry. Every feature from the previous app has been redesigned to make things simpler to find and use.
Prepare for meetings in seconds
Before a call or meeting, Nexl pulls together a summary of the contact, their company, and your firm’s history with them, so lawyers can walk in prepared.

Follow up while it’s fresh
Nexl reminds lawyers when it’s time to check in and drafts a follow-up email for them. After a meeting, a lawyer can record a quick voice note and turn it into an email draft before they’re back at the office.

See who knows who across the firm
Lawyers can see who at a firm knows a contact, how strong each relationship is, and when a contact changes roles or moves firms.

Capture new connections at events
Scan a business card and Nexl adds the contact, their company, and the connection to your firm’s network to Nexl CRM.

If your firm already uses Nexl, contact your Client Success Manager and they’ll get your lawyers set up on the new app. If your firm is new to Nexl, request a demo to see it in action.
Coming soon to Nexl Mobile
We’re already building the next set of Nexl Mobile features. They’ll help lawyers focus on their priority relationships and know the right moment to reach out.
Lawyers and BD teams will agree on the companies and contacts that matter most, and the app will keep each lawyer focused on those relationships, flagging when each one needs attention. The app will also prompt lawyers each week with a contact or company to act on. It will explain why that relationship matters now and whether you've got a stay-in-touch gap or new development. We’re giving a closed group of early adopters first access.
Additional improvements
User groups for simpler access management
Admins can now organize users into groups and manage access permissions for a whole group across workspaces. When someone joins a practice group or moves teams, adding them to the right group gives them the access they need, so admins no longer have to update each workspace one by one.
Nexl completes SOC 2 Type II audit
Nexl has completed its SOC 2 Type II audit. The audit independently tests how well our security controls work over months of operation. The report gives your IT and risk teams stronger evidence for vendor reviews, and it gives you a clear answer when clients ask how their data is protected.
Faster list cleaning
List Cleaner in Nexl Marketing now runs up to 22 times faster. Lists of more than 13,000 contacts are cleaned in under a minute, so you can check even your largest lists right before a send.
Try it in Nexl today
Relationships grow in the time between meetings, and Nexl Mobile gives lawyers what they need in real time. To get the new app set up for your firm’s lawyers, reach out to your Client Success Manager. If you’re new to Nexl, request a demo with our team.
