Moving beyond manual data entry
"Before we had Nexl, our database was ancient," says Papadios. "We had to manually enter all the information ourselves. It was very time-consuming." For a growing firm, this wasn't sustainable. They needed a solution that could keep pace with their expansion without adding to lawyers' administrative load. Nexl gave them that. "It's all automated now, which has saved us a lot of time," says Papadios.
Immediate answers to "who do we know?"
These time savings extended beyond the business development team too. For the first time, anyone at the firm could quickly answer a question that had always been harder than it should be: who do we know at [company]? "We can now go into Nexl and get that information," says Papadios.
This capability has had a significant impact on how the firm operates. Instead of searching for information or relying on institutional knowledge, the business development team can provide instant answers. The visibility has also helped the firm move faster on business development opportunities. When partners can quickly see existing relationships, fewer opportunities slip through the cracks.
Simple to use, powerful in practice
For any new technology, ease of use is critical to adoption. The Bartier Perry team needed something that lawyers would use without extensive training or ongoing support. "We found [Nexl] really simple and easy to use," says Papadios. "It gives us ... a clear overview of what's happening between our lawyers and clients." That simplicity has been central to the platform's success at the firm. "We can see who's talking to who now, and we never had that before," Papadios explains.
